editorial copywriter

minnow is looking for an experienced copywriter to help communicate our brand voice across a range of channels. this role is perfect for someone with a clever, creative style who can execute in a fast paced environment. 

 

specific duties/responsibilities:

copy

  • Craft compelling and original messaging around collections and capsules, including product descriptions. Provide elevated, clear and accurate information for customers.
  • write press releases, media advisories, and news articles for internal and external audiences.
  • conceptualize and write blog content that drives organic traffic, boosts SEO, and enhances brand story telling. Develop content calendar to align with marketing and social calendars
  • help create strategic selling angles for categories, promotions and products
  • write consistent, engaging, on-brand copy for multiple platforms, including website, print, social, email, experiential, and retail 
  • refine minnow’s brand voice and develop a POV for external recognition
  • collaborate with VP Marketing to develop product / color names

content & strategy

  • define editorial and content strategies and position supporting minnow’s customer growth and engagement across all platforms and mediums
  • bring seasonal inspiration and collections to life through compelling product stories, driving end-to-end copy across all channels
  • craft and create franchise content series to enhance brand engagement and recognition
  • develop world class content and campaigns ensuring consistency across all channels: digital, retail, catalog, wholesale and social presence
  • work independently to develop new concepts for copy for all digital assets including but not limited to email/ad campaigns, SMS, video, blog, and social
  • refine social goals and strategy and drive engagement, growth and community across all social platforms 
  • research ways to boost SEO and organic traffic as well as community engagement through creative content and present ideas/strategy to leadership

brand 

  • collaboratively with Founder and VP marketing, develop brand purpose, personality and visual image to create a compelling tone of voice and base materials for internal and external use 
  • act as brand guardian and taking ownership of the brand guidelines
  • write all on site copy for B2C and B2B channels (including but not limited to product copy, landing pages, brand pages etc)
  • write captions for social channels (including but not limited to Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, etc)
  • understand and develop tone of voice across all branded assets, including CS response templates as needed
  • collaborate with cross-functional teams including but not limited to Web and third-party agencies
  • ensure consistency of voice across all channels and customer touchpoints

     

    skills & qualifications:

    • experience working with digital, consumer brands, luxury a plus
    • passion for creative, clever brand voice
    • flexibility in a fast paced environment
    • experience with asana (or similar platform) and managing timelines
    • bachelor’s degree with emphasis in writing or communications preferred, plus 5+ years in content and/or copywriting
    • proficient grammar and editing skills
