we caught up with the pro surfer, who’s family appeared in our summer campaign, to talk about his first father’s day, favorite beach to visit and the playlist he has on repeat.
tell us about yourself! here you're located, about your beautiful family and amazing career as a pro surfer.
i am originally from manasquan, nj but now reside in montauk, ny with my beautiful wife quincy and our little angel lilou. although nowadays i spend most of my time running my construction company, i was also fortunate enough to be a professional surfer through my younger years. surfing is also the reason my life crossed paths with quincy. she is an incredible surfer and i was actually a fan of hers as a kid…safe to say i got my childhood crush.
looking back at your first year as a father, what brought you the most joy?
every single day i come home, lilou cracks the chubbiest cutest smile right when she sees me and it melts my heart. that emotion is unexplainable.
what’s the best parenting advice you’ve received?
just go with the flow. a lot of things happen that you may not expect, from good to bad, big to small. just embrace it as it comes and learn as you go.
what’s your favorite beach to visit with your family?
the manasquan inlet. i grew up in manasquan and spent most of my childhood days on that beach. although montauk beaches are as beautiful as beaches get, there's something about bringing your new baby to where you spent most of your own childhood.
what’s your favorite summer memory as a child?
being at the beach all day with my friends, especially when the waves were good. i also would look forward to surf contests on the weekend cause that would be my slim chance of hanging out with quincy davis back then.
what’s on your summer playlist?
if we're talking beach day music, i’d have to say reggae.
