not only is elle strauss' style something we've long admired, but also her career. from senior fashion editor at lucky magazine, to fashion & style director at shopbop, elle has impeccable taste. now working as a consultant and stylist in los angeles, mama to two beautiful girls, we love elle’s humble attitude towards motherhood, as she finds inspiration in other moms, including her own!
what is in your beach bag?
way too much!
sunscreen- super goop and sun bum are favorites
water bottles
kids snacks
wet wipes
bucket and spades!
i have a lovely and large canvas tote from clare v that i inevitably throw way too much into
favorite beach to take your family?
we like to go to redondo beach, it’s so clean and super family friendly. the kids love it there.
honor my oldest is also obsessed with malibu pier.
what has surprised you about motherhood?
gosh everything I think?! the capacity to love so deeply, how much hard work they are, how rewarding it all is. the list is endless.
what is the greatest lesson you've learned from your own mother?
i’m not sure its a lesson but her kindness, lack of judgement and the ability to make my kids laugh off their tears and frustration sets a high bar.
what are your favorite family traditions?
christmas at my aunts in the pacific palisades. my mum also flies in from london and we have a traditional english christmas dinner with all the trimmings but with the californian sun.
smaller traditions- sunday’s at the long beach flea market followed by a visit to redondo beach
ice cream on malibu pier.
what inspires you as a mother?
the other mothers in my life juggling everything and killing it!
