say hello to our newest minnow mama, whitney yantis! we have absolutely loved watching her talented eye for mixing and matching pieces for her darling son (and soon her daughter too) since purchasing pieces from our very first collection! whitney's travels evoke serious wanderlust and she seeks styling inspiration from her favorite interior designers. continue reading for whitney's styling tips and where the sunshine will lead her next!
- where do you find style inspiration for yourself and your littles?
i love looking at interior designer's work to get ideas. the way they mix textures and patterns to bring a room together gives me inspiration on how to take more chances and pair two patterns together instead of just a solid and a print.
- what are your favorite minnow pieces?
i am loving the dots. they go with everything! the size of them is perfect and chic without being too cartoon-like, like children's prints can often be. And the gingham will always have a special place in my heart too since it's so classic.
- where is your favorite family getaway?
rosewood myakoba! it's a luxurious adult vacation spot that is still great for littles. we are warm weather people and it's a beautiful white beach in the middle of a rainforest.
- what is your favorite minnow pairing/look?
currently into the lemon drop boardie and navy and white dot rashguard because it's so fresh and happy. pairing a floral with a gingham is another go-to of ours and i'm dying to get my baby girl anything dusty plum.
- what is your favorite beach to take your family?
sea island is always wonderful. there are a lot of activities to do with the family without going too far and you can get a nice breeze on the beach if you go at the right time of year.
- how did you discover minnow and what initially drew you to the brand?
i think it might have been on instagram by searching through pictures of chic mamas and seeing how they dressed their kiddos. initially, i was looking for rashguards for my son and there were such limited choices out there. the fit was also always off with oversized trunks past their knees that were so overwhelming on my little guy. i was thrilled not only to find some boy options but also sophisticated and stylish prints that wear and wash well. being able to mix and match them has made it so much fun over the years and i can't wait for my daughter to start wearing some of our favorites that i'm saving for her.
